What started several years ago as a class project for my 3rd grader turned into a hobby of collecting fossils (mostly marine) and interesting rocks. That doesn't look like a crinoid segment to me, it looks like an entire set of arms. And that set of arms may be attached to a cup within the rock, which could be revealed by a careful preparator. That's a rare find!
I agree with you, Alex, its not a segment. They do appear to be arms or tentacles...maybe to a crinoid? I'd be delighted to find the cup-like calyx within the rock. THank you for your comments!
